Checking Out The Playback
1) I've never recorded before. Is there anyone who can help me
thru the process?
Yes - At Flashpoint we can help you sort through the common mistakes
and help you design a recording plan that should save you money and
assist you in getting the most recording for your money.

2) Does your studio rental day rate include an engineer?
YES -- we also have rates if you want to use your own engineer.

3) What are the hidden costs?
NONE
There are no instruments or outboard equipment that you will be charged
extra to use. You do need to buy hard disk storage for your project.
Flashpoint sells hard drives or you can buy them at any computer store.

4) Can the day rate be broken up over two or more days?
NO -- it's a rate for a single day.

5) How long is a day?
We have rates for 8, and 10 hour days -- other packages can be arranged
in advance.

6) Can I visit Flashpoint?
Absolutely -- call or email to arrange a time.

&
Technology Meet
7) Do you take plastic?
Yes -- all of them: VISA, MC, Discover, AMEX

8) Do you do mastering?
We prefer not to. Our specialty is recording and mixing -- we can recommend an excellent mastering professional. We
bet that if you look at some of your favorite albums you'll most likely see that the album was mastered at a facility
specifically designed for mastering. We are not fans of having the same person who recorded and mixed your record
master it....but if you insist or you need something for the short term we can make it happen for you.

9) Can you restore old audio material from cassette, micro-cassette, vinyl, reel-to-reel, DAT and burn the
material to an audio CD?
Yes. We can enhance intelligibility, clean up background noise and remove clicks and pops. Please note that this is
often time consuming, detailed, precise work. We bill by the hour for all restoration and enhancement services. Some
material is beyond restoration.

10) Can I bring my own engineer for my sessions?
Sure.

11) I only want to record drums (or insert the instrument of your choice) at your place, is that cool?
It most definitely is. We have a large business working with many places that don't have the space, equipment or
expertise to record drums or a whole rhythm section all playing together. We can record your tracks and put them into
individual high resolution WAV files which will open up and sync on ANY workstation. We want to be involved in
your project in any way, shape, or form, no matter how large or small.

12) Do you have instruments and amps available?
Yes - we have a ton of instruments, assorted toys, stomp boxes and just the oddball sound you need to complete that
track; just ask.

13) How long will it take for me to record my album?
A three minutes song takes three minutes -- don't you wish. That is one of the things we can discuss when you visit the
studio. Flashpoint is set up for production which means we can move as quickly as you desire. We are big believers
that someone should know why they are recording and what they want their project to accomplish......questions only
the artist can answer. Many who enter the studio often fail to ask themselves these two crucial questions.

14) How important is a producer?
Does Lance Armstrong do it all by himself or does he depend on a coach and a team? A producer is often key to
obtaining a stellar, and satisfying project. It often helps to view the producer as the "coach" on your team.
A good producer helps keep the studio atmosphere collaborative and creative. We can help you find the right producer.
Or in the words of the great Lightnin' Hopkins: "If yous the producer, how bout producin me a bottle of gin!"

15) Do you supply studio musicians?
At Flashpoint we have access to the greatest and friendliest players in the world. It's hard to beat the sound of a tight
rhythm section cutting basic tracks.

16) What is the "Client Log In" on this website?
Good question, we thought you'd never ask.
This is a private section on our website where clients can hear mixes if they are on the road or upload and download
files, book time on the calendar, reserve sessions, and determine the status of an ongoing project (ie.: all background
vocals completed on songs 2, 4, and 5; they could then download the latest roughs with the BG Vox's).
If you are a travelling musician or use our OTG feature, this is a very handy service.

17) Do you have individual headphone (cue) mixes?
Yes. yes, yes and yes. If you can't hear properly you can't play or sing. Everyone gets their own little easy to use mixer
and can set the mix eggsackley as they want to hear it.
